Veolia offers international aid to China

In response to the tragedies that have struck the populations of Myanmar and the province of Sichaun in China, the personnel of Veolia Force have acted immediately to provide relief for the victims and assist in the efforts of the authorities.

In the case of Myanmar, where Veolia has no commercial activity, Veolia Force dispatched 7 tonnes of emergency supplies, acting in conjunction with the French Red Cross. The supplies have now reached Myanmar. Two employees have received their VISA's and will be arriving on the spot in Myanmar in the course of May 16. At the request of UNICEF, Veolia will be providing its post-emergency expertise when required, in its capacity as a Standby Partner.

In China, there are no Veolia Environnement employees among the victims of the earthquake that has affected the region of Sichaun. At the request of the authorities, Veolia Force has dispatched three emergency units, comprising three mobile water treatment plants capable of providing emergency water supplies to 15,000 people daily. Our Veolia teams on the spot will take delivery of the equipment in a weeks time. Veolia Force has dispatched three volunteers.

Veolia Environment is also attending the meetings currently being held at the French Foreign Ministry to coordinate French relief Efforts.
