Victorian Marine Industry Awards

Veolia helps Sandringham Yacht Club achieve the Environment Award at the Victorian Marine Industry Awards.

Sandringham Yacht Club (SYC) won the Environment Award at the recent Victorian Marine Industry Awards held at the Palladium, Crown Casino on July 6th. The annual awards breakfast staged by the Boating Industry Association of Victoria, awards a business within Victoria's $1.7billion marine industry who demonstrates and introduces significant environmental initiatives.

Throughout 2006/2007 SYC endeavoured to address a range of environmental issues throughout the business. As part of this, Veolia Environmental Services Victoria, introduced site wide Recycling Waste Policies at SYC include recycling and general waste bins placed throughout the complex including capturing all rubbish removed from the marina by boat owners.

Veolia also nominated SYC as their “Clean Up Australia Day” site. which attracted 50 Veolia Management and Staff who cleaned up the SYC and surrounding facility.
