Veolia Environmental Services Victoria recently hosted its inaugural Driver Challenge and Family Fun Day at the Keysborough depot on Sunday November 20th 2011.
A strong crowd of over 350 local and interstate staff, suppliers and family members all enjoyed a festival of family entertainment with an animal petting zoo, jumping castle, face painting, games, barbeque lunch and most importantly, a visit from a very special guest who was getting in some early practice before Christmas.
On this perfect spring day, the cream of Veolia’s driving crop put their skills to the test, safely manoeuvring their vehicles through a custom designed, simulated series of common workplace challenges.
The first of such challenges was the forklift test, before progressing through to 6x4 and 8x4 hooklift and frontlift challenges further rounding out the competition. An eager crowd watched on with anticipation as each competitor’s score was calculated, based on performance and judged by a team of expert marshals on course.
Following the event, Veolia Environmental Services Managing DirectorDoug Deanpresented the overall champion and challenge winners with their trophies, coupled with some fantastic prizes donated by some of Veolia’s key suppliers.
